We are here to provide some helpful tips and techniques to pull yourself out of that slump and to start being more productive.
OVERCOMING PROCRASTINATION
Did you know that procrastination is the number-one academic hurdle for WVU students? Why do we procrastinate if we recognize this behavior isn’t helpful?
The reason could be different for everyone, but understanding your own procrastination could be the trick you need to overcome it.
Here are a few questions to ask yourself:
-
Are you prioritizing your current mood over long-term goals?
-
Are you managing your time well?
-
Are you feeling paralyzed by perfectionism, fear, or anxiety?
-
Do you have low energy?
-
Are you in an environment built to support your goals?
-
Are your goals ambiguous?
Answering these questions could help you better understand your own reason for procrastinating. Setting goals for yourself and having a plan of action can help drive productivity.
-
Set a specific and realistic goal
-
Create an action plan
-
Implement your plan
