Minimum Requirements
Education
Completion of all required coursework and practicum experiences in a counseling
or clinical psychology doctoral program is required prior to the starting date
of internship. Successful completion of comprehensive examinations and dissertation
proposal are required prior to the ranking deadline. Please see application procedures.
Experience
The equivalent of 1200 hours of supervised practicum in counseling/psychotherapy. Applicants must have 325 hours of direct clinical interventions (therapy) hours. 75 hours of these 325 hours must include therapy with adults (18 and over).
Background Check
All new employees of the Carruth Center at West Virginia University are required to successfully pass a background check, including a verification of authorization to work legally in the US, as a condition of employment.
