The number of hours of supervision is determined by the number of hours a trainee spends at the program. A practicum trainee can expect a minimum of one hour of supervision weekly, and an intern who is at this site for 20 or more hours a week will have at least two hours of supervision preferably with two supervisors.
Therapy sessions may be audio or video recorded to provide first-hand information to their supervisor. Informal evaluations are conducted at each semester’s midpoint, and formal written evaluations are conducted at each semester’s end. All supervisors meet at the midpoint and at the end of the semester to discuss their evaluation of their supervisees.
Practicum/Intern counselors are expected to follow all policies and procedures of the Carruth Center and to act in accordance with the ethical standards of the profession.
