Therapeutic Orientation

I take a collaborative and client-centered approach to therapy. I practice predominantly from a Person-Centered theoretical perspective, with influences from Interpersonal and Gestalt theory. I believe every client knows themself the best, and it is my job to help facilitate the process of helping you find wellness. I try my best to provide a warm and welcoming environment, where you feel safe to discuss and explore very personal concerns. Being human is beautifully messy, a tapestry of joyful and painful moments. When we move past the expectations of how we think our lives should go, we can more fully appreciate and value the life we are currently living.

Areas of Clinical Interest

I am interested in multicultural aspects of therapy, especially intersectional identity issues related to LGBTQ+ identity. I frequently discuss the topics of shame, vulnerability, and authenticity.  I also enjoy exploring the process of identity development, as well as spirituality/faith concerns.

Bio

Originally from Kutztown, PA, I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, I moved to Virginia Beach, VA, to pursue a Master’s degree in Counseling, but decided half-way through to change plans and attend a doctorate program. During my doctorate program in Clinical Psychology at George Fox University, I had the opportunity to work with students at Oregon State University’s Counseling and Psychological Services and discovered my love for working with college students at a University Counseling Center. Following coursework at GFU, I completed my pre-doctoral internship at the University of Florida’s Counseling & Wellness Center.

My training and past work has developed a love for supporting students as they navigate this exciting time of learning and transition. My goal is to help individuals find balance and wellness in their lives. Outside of work, I try to live the glamorous life by reading, exploring nature, cooking, and travelling. I recharge by engaging in spiritual practices, meditation, and authentic human connection. Ask me who my favorite RuPaul’s Drag Race queen is.
