Bio

As a native of Morgantown, Maxx attended WVU for both his undergraduate and graduate studies. Upon graduating with his MA, he worked at Wellspring Family Services, a community-based service where he conducted home visits with an underserved, and often rural and impoverished, population. He then worked at WVU Medicine’s Center for Hope and Healing, an inpatient substance use treatment center. During his time at the Center, he worked his way into leadership and became the inaugural lead clinical therapist.

At the College of Law, Maxx will facilitate the growth of law students by guiding and cultivating them into not only successful lawyers, but also healthy and happy human beings through effective coping strategies, careful and empathetic processing, and development of therapeutic skills.

Maxx enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Lauren, and his son, Ezra. He likes to read, travel, coach community sports and support the Mountaineers, along with all Philadelphia professional teams - especially the Philadelphia Eagles (Go Birds!).
