Bio
I was born and raised in West Virginia but eventually moved to Pittsburgh, PA. While living in Pittsburgh, I did a lot of volunteer work which spurred my interest in pursuing a career in social work. During my time in Pittsburgh, I received a bachelor’s in social work from Chatham University, worked as a community health worker, and interned and volunteered as a victim’s advocate at Pittsburgh Action Against Rape. While working in the social service field, I noticed the prevalence of substance use and how it affects individuals and the community. Eventually, I decided to move back to Morgantown to pursue my master’s in social work at WVU, focusing on substance use. Before joining the Carruth Center team, I worked as a drug and alcohol counselor at a medication-assisted treatment facility in rural West Virginia. I love the outdoors! I love hiking, bicycling, and camping. I also love art, live music, and reading.
