Bio: Originally from Pittsburgh, Pa, I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from West Virginia University where I developed a passion for working in higher education as a work-study student in the Office of Campus & Community Life. After obtaining my MSW, I held a live-in position with Residential Education as a Residence Hall Coordinator (RHC) for three years where I oversaw a building of over 500 students. I then transitioned to the Office of Student Success as a Program Coordinator. I worked individually with students on academic probation, providing guidance and supportive counseling to assist them in succeeding while connecting them with resources available within the university.
Through my experiences, I found that my passion lies working individually with students in a more clinical setting, where I was fortunate enough to find my ideal position as a Case Manager with CCPPS. In my role, I am able to provide individual treatment to students and also utilize the knowledge and skills I obtained from my previous positions. Due to my experiences, I am able to incorporate my knowledge and skills from an academic perspective into the counseling center to best aid our students.
