After being born a native West Virginian and leaving the state multiple times just to subsequently return, I found my heart belongs to the Mountain State. Being a Mountaineer as a non-traditional Social Work student was an incredulous shift from my early career in administration, sales and marketing living in D.C., Maryland, and the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. Following graduate school my next ten years were spent building my clinical skills in community mental health and West Virginia Behavioral Medicine. Recently, I made the deliberate move to Carruth for the opportunity to supervise and train future clinicians and provide direct care for our students.
